winter

I was sitting here this morning, feeling sorry for myself because we are snowed in, for the third time and I was thinking about spring, and summer, and flowers, and warm sunshine, and I started reading a book I got from the library called " The Avonlea Album" and there were pictures of Prince Edward Island in the snow, and quotes from books that L.M. Montgomery wrote, and this is one of them, that kinda made me feel better.

" It was inter in our orchard of old delights then, - so truly winter that it was hard to believe summer had ever dwelt in it, or that spring would ever return to it. There were no birds to sing the music of the moon; and the path where the apple blossoms had fallen were heaped with less fragrant drifts. But it was a place of wonder on a moonlight night, when the snowy arcades shone like avenues of ivory and crystal and the bare trees cast fairy-like traceries upon them.

I hope you are all safe, warm, and happy, as you go about your day.

About Me

My photo
I live in the mountains of Western North Carolina, in a little camper, with my husband and family. We are trying to become self sufficient and live off the land. I am sick of all the sad news on TV, the economy, and the evil world we live in, so we are trying to make things as simple as possible and get back to the basics. I think if everyone did that, and had faith in God the world might be a better place. Follow along, as we live life in our little tin can, and try to make it a home, while learning to homestead.
